BAD GRAMMAR THEATER: FEBRUARY 2016
I thought I would post a bit about the new place BGT is happening, and that would be courtesy of Jude Mire at Forte Framing & Gallery, just off of North Avenue and Western. It just took me a little longer than expected to find time to write up the post.
The many, many seascape paintings are by Jude's wife Jill Cooper. The artwork with the skulls is courtesy Eric Lower. Sculptures in the front window are by Brian Sperry, but the photos I took did not come out well, because there was reflections from the streetlights.
Big crowds, lots of readers, good stories to be heard. If you are in Chicago on Friday 18 March, the readings are from 7-10PM. If you are interested in buying some great art or getting something framed, you can reach Jude or Jill. I'm not writing any phone numbers down because I don't trust the NSA anymore.

BAD GRAMMAR THEATER: 15JAN16
Bad Grammar Theater started up again at it's new home, Forte Framing & Gallery, just off of Western and North Avenue. Started by Brendan Detzner (the guy in the purple shirt) and hosted by Jude Mire (the guy with the beard), it was great to get back into the readings. And the bigger crowds, as well.
I had spent a few weeks putting together the contents for Crossroad Press's upcoming book of mine, RAPID TRANSIT: 30 years of short fiction and I decided to read "I Fights To The Finish", a fairly insane story from John Weagley's REVENGE OF THE RADIOACTIVE MONKEYS that came out around 2005. It was good to get the band back together.

BAD GRAMMAR THEATER, 17 OCT 04
Let's keep it going, shall we? Brendan Detzner started BAD GRAMMAR THEATER a few years ago when he lived over dere by the viaduct on 17th & Halsted. He has moved to the suburbs now, and so BGT still exists, only now in the back room of Powell's Books at Roosevelt & Halsted.
On 17 Oct 14, I read "Ghost Rider In My Eye" to a group of about forty people, but I was also able to meet up with Harold Holt, a fantastic writer I hadn't seen in a decade. A DECADE. There was the usual band of idiots, too. Mike Penkas. Jude Mire. Eric Cherry.
