I had plates in my arm after getting hit by the car in March of 1989. They broke and new ones were put in. They broke again in September, so while Joe Biden was on CNN talking about whatever was going on at the time, I had had part of my right hip put into my left forearm. But they couldn't do a lot, I still have a big deadspace there.
