MURDER IN BELLAIR: THE TOWN THAT HATED UIC STUDENTS!

I've talked about this place. Where I starved during the summer of 1982. The Night of The Hungry Dog. Well, I'm a bit late to the party to find this out, but beautiful Bellair pop. 54 when I was there and pop. 46 now, actually 45, because unless they got the math wrong (highly possible), the woman in the news heading above was killed by a daughter she had when she was 12 years old. I'm going to add more photos and the story tomorrow.

HORRORS! 365 SCARY STORIES

Found a copy of this at the Salvation Army yesterday. It was a fun book to be in, and it took reprints. So two of my stories were from very early in my writing career. Career? Ha! Two others were new. Each of the stories ran barely two pages, were not alphabetical, and there was no page break. My story would end amd after a few spaces, the next author and their story would start up.

Of course, the running joke was that it was meant to be a book kept in the wicker basket next to the toilet along with Guns & Ammo and Golf Digest.

AND STILL MORE HOLY TERRORS

And so it is that there are many novels called THE HOLY TERROR or HOLY TERROR. The one starring Batman was illustrated by Norm Breyfogle, who died last month at the age of 58, after having a stroke in 2015. And there is a Facebook page for a rock group, as well as there having one time been a stock company, and that is as cool as when there was an attorney with the last name Frankenstein downtown. Now to go look up that stock company.

THE HOLY TERRORS.

Found a copy of a book that came out in the UK the same year as mine, 1992. I have a few extra copies of my own, pictured is one I picked up on Amazon as a used library book. Those are always fun to find. I doubt I paid that much more for the library book, its more fun to see where and how a book keeps floating around decades after it first saw print. One thing that always amazed me was an email from a fellow who lived in Tasmania. He had found a hardcover copy of my book in perfect condition in a used bookstore in Sydney. That boggled my mind.

THE END OF THE SEASON FOR THE CHICAGO CUBS, BUT...

A few hours ago, the Cubs lost the Wild Card to the Colorado Rockies at Wrigley Field. But we have to remember this as a society: when the Cubs won the World Series for the first time in 108 years in 2016, just SIX days passed before this asshole was elected President. Not Gacy, the other guy. Gacy just thought of Trump as his personal hero.

I think 2019 is a better year. It will be after the Midterms.
